What is Bean-to-Bar? includes ethically buying, roasting, grinding, and refining the beans in our little facility.
What makes our bars different from other companies? we use coconut nectar to sweeten them. Not cane sugar. This really allows for the flavors to flow. The nectar doesn't over power the different flavors of the bean, thus, really gives you the full spectrum of the bean-to-bar experience. Each bean has it's own distinct flavor profile.
Our 70% cacao - means that out of the 100% mass there is 30% nectar(sugar) content. When you are comparing our bars to what else is on the market. Please remember that because we use coconut nectar, our bars are not as sweet as theirs. You really get to taste the full flavor profile of each bean, and they SING!
If you are a first timer to this lovely world of chocolate bean-to-bar we would suggest starting out with either the Madagascar, Philippines or Peruvian bars - these are both light and easy on the pallet.
These are 80 Gram chocolate bars that are 70% Cacao. Ingredients: Organic Beans, Organic coconut nectar and organic cacao butter.

Organic Madagascar Sambirano Valley - 70% Cacao
Tasting Notes: Bursting with Cheery, Raisins. - This is a light and low key flavor, very milky and very little acitic/bitter flavor.
Organic PHILIPPINES Bon Bulak- 70% Cacao
Tasting Notes: Porcini, Sage, Lilac, Petit Verdot - Nice mellow, earthy notes, with very little bitter tastes
Direct Trade - PERUVIAN MARAÑÓN - 70% Cacao
Tasting Notes: This has a bright snappy fruit aromas, with a buttery and silky start and finish. This bean is a great starter bean for anyone who is new to the bean-to-bar scene.
Organic, Direct Trade - DOMINICAN REPUBLIC ZORZAL - 70% Cacao
Tasting Notes: Hello Cherry! This is one glorious fruit boom, it is big and beautiful and full of flavor! A well rounded bean and is not to sharp.
Organic Nicaragua O:Tuma cocoa beans - 70% Cacao, Single Origin
Tasting Notes: Cocoa, Nutty, Sweet Wood, Slight Cinnamon - Absolutely lovely earthy notes, that leave your taste buds wanting more.
Fleur de Sel 70% - Nicaragua O:Tuma - This combo is really untouchable! It's absolutely amazing together (Vancouver Island Salt Co. is the salt we use)
Organic Nicaragua O:Payo cocoa beans - 70% Cacao, Single Origin
Tasting Notes: Passion-Fruit, Coffee, Pineapple, Tannic, Kiwi - An excitement of citrus fruits that do a wondaful dance together
Organic Mexican (Tabasco Region) -70% Cacao, Single Origin (with some added home grown peppers for some extra spice)
Tasting Notes: Spicy, Cinnamon, Nutmeg. - The spice is the hit for this one! Hands down.

Coconut Nectar is such a unique sweetener is the harmonious combination of nutrients, its complex sugar composition and rich caramel-like flavor, making it the perfect sweetener.
